Stu Stiles
President & Chief Executive Officer
Since 2005, Stu Stiles has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Advantage IQ, bringing more than 20 years experience in sales, operations, finance and executive leadership. Prior to his current position, Stiles has held executive level positions at XO Communications, the Teknon Corporation, where he was President, and with Ernest and Julio Gallo. Focused on technology and business development, Stiles serves as co-chair of the advisory board of the Whitworth University School of Global Commerce & Management, and is a member of the board for the Spokane Intercollegiate Research and Technology Institute (SIRTI), where he was also past board chair. In addition, he’s currently on the board of Greater Spokane Incorporated, and is a past board member of the Spokane Economic Development Council and INTEC of Spokane. Stiles is a graduate of the University of South Dakota, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
Jeff Hart
Chief Operating Officer, Division President
Jeff Hart is the Chief Operating Officer and Division President for Advantage IQ. Hart brings more than 20 years experience in operational direction, having most recently held the positions of V.P. of Operations, Chief Operating Officer and President and Chief Executive Officer for Cadence Network. He was responsible for directing marketing, business development, client services, professional services, daily operations and product development. Prior to Cadence, Jeff spent more than 15 years in the software industry directing and managing various product support, product development, quality assurance, product strategy and management and e-commerce organizations. In his position as Vice President of Product Development and Delivery for Copernus, Inc. he directed product and project management, engineering, quality assurance, user interface and information, customer delivery and support, and hosting services. Jeff also spent 14 years in a variety of key management positions with The Reynolds & Reynolds Company, eventually managing the company's e-commerce planning and strategy for the vehicle retailing division. Jeff received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, specializing in Management Information Systems, Production Operations Management, and Procurement Management from Bowling Green in 1985. He was a member of the Board of Business Education for Wright from 1992-1996, and currently sits on the Board of Advisors for the Dayton I-Zone State University.
David Porter
Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing
As Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Porter brings more than 25 years of sales, marketing and executive leadership experience. Porter’s career has largely centered on the energy sector. Porter has planned, directed and executed all aspects of the sales and marketing functions. Most recently, he was Director of Marketing for an IT & management consulting firm. Prior to that time Porter held a variety of management and executive positions at Florida Power Corporation, EPRI, Duke Power and in a telecommunications start-up venture. He has an extensive international business background and is well versed in alliance and acquisition creation and management. Porter is a licensed professional engineer and holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University.
Craig Urdahl
Executive Vice President, Finance and Treasurer
Craig Urdahl is the Executive Vice President of Finance and Treasurer for Advantage IQ, bringing over 26 years of financial experience in both public and private companies. Prior to Advantage IQ, Urdahl was Vice President, Assistant Treasurer and Controller for Pentzer Corporation, a private equity investment fund. During his decade-long career with Pentzer, Urdahl evaluated and performed financial due diligence on acquisition candidates, advised on accounting, tax and other financial matters, and was responsible for treasury management. Urdahl has also served on the board of directors for various portfolio companies. Before joining Pentzer, he held a financial management position with a Seattle-based wholesale distributorship and was a general practice audit manager with Coopers and Lybrand (currently PricewaterhouseCoopers). He is a Certified Public Accountant in Washington and Montana, and a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Urdahl holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Montana.
Mary Braunstein
Vice President, Information Technology
As Vice President of Information Technology, Braunstein is responsible for accelerating the technology infrastructure that provides value to our customers and creates competitive differentiation.
In her most recent role with Cadence Network, Mary managed technical architecture and application development as she was responsible for setting the direction of data architecture for the company by performing all data modeling, platform determination and data warehousing. Mary continues to be instrumental in the customization of information for our clients. Prior to joining Cadence, Mary spent 32 years with Cinergy Corp. She has 31 years of experience in data processing and project management for electric/gas metering and specialized customer billing applications. In addition to her extensive data processing and project management experience, Mary worked for 10 years in electric distribution and engineering. In 1993, she was the recipient of the prestigious J.H. Randolph award in recognition for her individual efforts to develop an application that saved Cinergy $2 million annually. Mary received her bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from the University. She is a past member of the Cinergy Speakers Bureau, Project Management Institute, and a former Chairman of the Midwest Region for the Association for Systems Management (ASM).
Mike Donahue
Vice President, Lease Auditing Services
Mike Donahue has over 10 years experience in lease auditing for multi-site national customers. Donahue is devoted to providing quality lease data management services. Mike served as President and owner of Donahue Consulting, a lease audit firm specializing in audits for national retailers until, it was purchased by Cadence Network in 2003, when he took the role of Vice President of Lease Audit Services at Cadence. Donahue Consulting was recognized as the leader in the audit industry and clients realized recoveries of over $30,000,000 from audits performed by Donahue Consulting. In addition to audits, Donahue Consulting provided audit and payables training to national retailers. Mike has also served as an expert witness in several court actions, on behalf of retailers. Prior to forming Donahue Consulting, Mike worked for US Shoe/Luxottica for 12 years, most recently as Director of Internal audit. US Shoe owned and operated over 1,800 retail locations including LensCrafters, Casual Corner, Petite Sophisticate and over 1,000 footwear locations. As Director of audit, Mike was responsible for operational and compliance audits for all of the operations including; distribution center operations, inventory, cash management, lease occupancy and payables, store operations procedures and many other areas. Mike received a Bachelors of Business Administration and an MBA from Ohio State University. After graduate school Mike worked in Big 6 Accounting and earned his CPA.
Mark Duffer
Vice President, Utility Professional Services
Mark Duffer brings more than 13 years of diverse energy industry experience to his role as Vice President of Utility Professional Services. Mark is focused on the delivery of professional services that meet client needs as he leads and further develops our Professional Services team. Duffer most recently held the position of Vice President of Professional Services for Cadence Network. After spending four years at Cinergy, where he co-developed the ProActiv Energy Services department. Prior to joining Cadence and Cinergy, he was an account manager for some of the largest commercial and industrial companies in the country at PSI, an operating company of Cinergy. Mark also spent two years in variety of roles with Energy Investment, Inc., an engineering consulting firm specializing in energy services. There he was a Group Manager responsible for opening and managing the Midwest regional office, which provided energy services to electric utilities and their customers in four Midwest states. He began his career in 1987 as an independent energy consultant. Mark received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and his Masters of Science in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from Oklahoma State University.
Jim Hendricks
Vice President, Finance
In his role as Vice President of Finance, Hendricks is responsible for special financial projects, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting and SAS70 compliance.
Jim had previously re-joined Cadence Network, in May 2005, to oversee all aspects of finance including financial reporting and accounting, treasury and budgeting. Before that, he held the position of Controller at Joseph-Beth Booksellers, one of the nation’s largest independent bookstore chains. Prior to that he was a manager of lease audit for Cadence and joined the company as part of the 2003 acquisition of Donahue Consulting. Before his lease audit experience, Jim spent seven years at Luxottica Retail in various accounting and financial roles, and spent 3 years after graduation at Coopers & Lybrand. Jim received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati in 1989.
Kim Kelley
Vice President, Human Resources
As Vice President of Human Resources, Kelley is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the human resource function, including recruitment, hiring, training, benefits, compensation, and development and implementation of performance management systems. Prior to joining Advantage, Kelley spent 15 years with Avista Corp., where she held the positions of Training Developer, Corporate Trainer, Organization Development Consultant, Human Resources Business Partner, and Customer Service Manager. Kelley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (summa cum laude) from Eastern Washington University as well as various certifications for training, facilitation and leadership coaching.
Steve Moritz
Vice President, Sales
As Vice President of Sales, Moritz serves as mentor for our team of experienced sales professionals. Motivating peak performance to build and sustain forward growth momentum for Advantage IQ. Prior to his role at Advantage IQ, Steve spent 2 years as Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Cadence Network. Steve also has 11 years experience in the supply side of the energy business with Strategic Energy, where he last held the position of Vice President of National Accounts. Throughout his tenure at Strategic he held key management positions, directing many successful sales and marketing programs including starting the company’s National Accounts program and growing it to being one of the most successful in the industry. Steve received a Bachelors of Science from Indiana in Marketing in 1986. He also graduated with a law degree from the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Law in 1994 and is a licensed attorney in Pennsylvania.
Ed Schlect
Founder & Vice President, Corporate Development
Ed Schlect is vice president of corporate development for Advantage IQ and brings more than 20 years of utility experience to the company, including the development of alliances and new products. A founding member of Advantage IQ, Schlect is a Licensed Professional Engineer and Certified Energy Manager, with an emphasis on project management and construction contracting. His design experience in civil, mechanical, electrical and process control systems in power generation facilities has given him a broad perspective on technology issues. Schlect earned a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and did postgraduate work in Engineering at Washington State University.
Rick Sievertson
Vice President, Client Relations
As Vice President of Client Relations, Rick Sievertsen is responsible for ensuring that Advantage IQ continually meets client expectations. Serving as a client liaison Rick will evaluate our services and ensure we are working toward providing maximum value. Mr. Sievertsen is a seasoned professional whose background is comprised of 25 years in the energy industry. His experience is diverse, having worked in the fields of sustainable business practices, energy management, renewable energy, risk management, technical and business solutions and consultative sales. He has served as Chief Executive of Sales and Marketing for Sebesta Blomberg & Associates, Inc. Recruited to integrate an energy management solution into Sebesta’s existing engineering consulting practice, Mr. Sievertsen developed and implemented a comprehensive sustainable business practices offering that capitalized on concerns over global warming and depletion of natural resources. The energy industry veteran previously founded Innovative Energy Partners, LLC, which specialized in integrated energy management solutions for corporate clients. The firm was bought by Sebesta in 2005. Earlier in his career, Mr. Sievertsen held several senior-level positions for companies such as TXU Energy Services, Alliant Energy, Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company, and Ralston Purina Company. Mr. Sievertsen holds an MBA and BBA in Accounting, both of which were earned at the University of Iowa.
Scott Simmons
Vice President, Operations
Scott Simmons is the Vice President of Operations, overseeing the client services and company operations for Advantage IQ. Most recently Simmons was the Director of Finance and Operations and acting Executive Director at the Spokane Intercollegiate Research & Technology Institute, an organization focused on the commercialization and acceleration of technology based startup companies. Prior to his involvement at SIRTI, Simmons was with XO Communications as the Director of Finance for the Northwest Region where he was responsible for managing the financial operating results of the business unit, developing pricing for the regional sales teams and analyzing and implementing process improvements in the sales order flow process. He is a member of the Spokane Community College Accounting Advisory Committee, a member of the SIRTI Foundation Finance Committee and has served as past treasurer and board member of the Spokane County Boys & Girls Club. Simmons earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Accounting at the University of Idaho.
